Phase 1 Scenario

The Orinda USD Board of Trustees was presented the Draft Facilities Master Plan and stakeholder group priorities, then participated in a workshop to develop their list of top priorities for Orinda schools.

The overall need of the FMP greatly outweighs the District’s ability to fund all projects.  The Draft FMP workshop on March 27, 2018 challenged the Board to manage their priorities within the dollar limit of potential funding, while reserving one-third of that potential funding amount for unknown costs such as inflation, off-side utility fees, and other costs that couldn’t be predicted by the FMP estimate.

With LPA’s assistance, the Board developed two categories for improvements:

  1. Improvements related to Student Health, Safety, and Classroom Repair; and
  2. Improvements related to Academic Excellence, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM)
